Telecom giant Bharti Airtel stated it has signed a 10-year contract with IBM to provide IT options to its staff members throughout 16 African countries.
"In conditions from the agreement, IBM will provide a regular working environment, 'help desk' and 'desk side' help to raise member of staff members usefulness and convenience," the business stated within of a statement.
"Today's announcement builds over a strategic relationship signed in previous due 2010 to control computing modern advances and companies to energy Airtel's cell communications system spanning 16 African countries," it added.
However, the business do not disclose any monetary transaction involved.
IBM will provide end-user companies to Airtel staff members throughout Africa, in French and English. The consolidation of Airtel's help desks is anticipated to take higher cost benefits and efficiencies by streamlining the processes of addressing IT operational issue.
Airtel and IBM's romantic relationship started out in 2004 when South Asia's principal cell communications provider selected IBM to run IT and software for its whole system in India.
